The Murine Disease Model Facility (MDMF) is the faculty animal facility available for murine work. The facility includes surgery capabilities, general lab space, behavioural equipment/analysis, and other related procedures.
The Murine Disease Model facility (MDMF) is a purpose-built animal holding and experimentation facility that provides animal holding, general lab space for animal experimentation, surgical capabilities and behavioural equipment for conducting high-quality biomedical research for the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical sciences (MIPS). The facility features individually ventilated caging systems, dedicated procedure rooms equipped with surgical equipment, and specialised areas for behavioural studies. We maintain stringent environmental controls, including precise temperature, humidity, and light cycles, alongside robust biosecurity protocols to ensure the health and welfare of all animals. Our facility adheres to the highest standards of animal care and ethical oversight, operating under strict compliance with national and international guidelines for laboratory animal welfare and research integrity. This infrastructure is critical for supporting innovative research while upholding our unwavering commitment to humane animal treatment.
Head to "request services" for induction and training requests. Inductions are on the first Tuesday of each month at 10am.
